PSE were appointed to provide structural design services for large scale extension and refurbishment to a house located in Chigwell. The proposed works increased the footprint of the property from 4,000 to 7,000 sq. ft. The extensive glazing to the rear was achieved by adopting slender double-storey height steel frames concealed strategically behind the proposed piers. Internally, large open place space was formed through a series of long-spanning steelwork.
